The conditions of the area are absolutely perfect for skiing and cross country skiing. Children will have enormous fun on the ski slope next to the house only 10 meters distance. They can take the little cable car up and they come down from the hill in 1 minute. This is why holiday home Fleur is perfectly ideal for families with children. Next to the chalet, but also in the immediate surroundings there are numerous child and family slopes. You can choose whatever suits you. In Velká Rača you will find the Snow Paradise ski centre, one of the most developed ski centers in Slovakia. It is spread over three valleys with a difference in height of 400 meters. From your chalet to the ski center you can drive straight away. The modern ski lifts consist of two 4-person lifts, a 2-person lift, two drag lifts and a lift for beginners. The 11 downhill runs in total are almost 12 km long. At the top of the mountain there is a snow shoe route of 1.2 kilometers, accessible by a chairlift. There is also a snowboard park and night skiing.

In the peak season a 5-day ski pass costs 106 Euro for adults and 73 Euro for children (2008/2009). Smaller ski areas in the vicinity, such as Makov and Turzovka, are obviously cheaper. And the nice thing is that each village has at least one of its own drag lift. Typical for a country where skiing is in people's blood.

In this area there is a network of trails for cross-country skiing. Lockers can be rented for the storage of clothes. There are several cozy mountain huts where you can order good yet inexpensive meals and drinks. Čadca (6 km) is a great city with great shopping and sports possibilities. The beautiful provincial capital of Žilina is great for shopping as well, and here you can also find McDonald's and Carrefour.
